Synopsis:
The management company of the idol group A.N.JELL insisted on adding a new singer to the group as the lead vocal, Tae Kyung's voice was hurting. However,the new member, Mi Nam, had to go to the States to repair a botched eye job just before signing the contract. His agent came up with the idea of having his twin sister, Mi Nyu,to stand in for him and pretend that she was her brother. The two of them grew up in an orphanage and Mi Nyu, who was all set to become a nun, agreed to this charade as she didn't want to spoil her brother's chance of fame which would make it easier to look for their mother.
The Cast
Park Shin Hye as Go Mi Nyu
She is a young novice who will pretend to be her twin brother, Go Mi Nam, so that she could fulfill his dream to become a singer. In spite of her innate goodness, her naiveté and clumsiness will always put her in embarrassing situations. In real life, 20-year-old Shin Hye is considered one of the most talented actresses in Koreasince her debut appearance in Stairway to Heaven. But her title role in He’s Beautiful is the one which landed her a New Star Award as well as international stardom.
Jang Geun Suk as Hwang Tae Kyung
As the leader of the popular all-male band A.N.Jell, he’s used to getting his way all the time. He’s not only smart as hell but also a certified neat freak who expects everyone to meet his impossible standards. But contrary to his character in the story, 23-year-old Geun Seuk is actually outspoken, witty, and accommodating especially to his fans. He’s supposed to portray Gu Jun Pyo in the Korean drama Boys Over Flowers but he declined and took on the lead role in Beethoven Virus which won him a Best New Actor award.
Jung Hyong Hwa as Kang Shin Woo
He is the bass guitarist of A.N. Jell who will fall in love with Go Mi Nyu at first sight. Since he’s the one who’s most sensitive to her feelings, he will do everything he can to protect her from the troubles that will come along the way. In real life, 21-year-old Hyong Hwa is actually a showbiz newbie whose recent success in He’sBeautiful has paved the way for him to be the leader of an indie band called C.N. Blue. It’s interesting to note though that his hobbies include playing the piano.
Lee Hong Ki as Jeremy
He’s the drummer and the designated clown of the group who has a dog named ‘Jolie’ whom he loves very much. He will unexpectedly grow fond of Go Mi Namno matter how much he tries to distance himself from him. In real life, 20-year-old Hong Ki has the most experience in show business of all his co-stars. You would recall that he visited Manilatogether with his band FTIsland last March for a one-night-only concert at the PICC Plenary Hall.
